<body> <h1>PM, Abhisit, House and Senate speakers to assess national situation</h1> <p> PM, Abhisit, House and Senate speakers to assess national situationPM, Abhisit, House and Senate speakers to assess national situation(BangkokPost.com) - Prime Minister and Defence Minister Somchai Wongsawat together with Opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, House speaker Chai Chidchob and Senate speaker Prasopsuk Boondej will meet on Friday to assess the national situation.The meeting was called by House speaker Chai Chidchob.Prime Minister Somchai said he will join the meeting, which will start at about 2pm on Friday. He said the meeting will discuss national issues that need improvements, including the political reform proposal.Democrat party and Opposition leader Abhisit said he is ready to join the meeting on Friday, following the invitation of House speaker Chai. Mr Abhisit however believed the meeting of four sides would not go into the details of the solution to the crisis because the meeting is limited to some people. The Opposition leader also commented on the government’s move to support the formation of a constitution drafting assembly, saying it can help solve the political upheaval, if there is no hidden intention behind it.After Mr Somchai met Privy Council president and Statesman Prem Tinsulanonda on Wednesday evening, Mr Abhisit said the premier should listen to the advices of Gen Prem and apply them as well. </p> </body>
